YOUTH COALITION FOR MINE ACTION

CONFERENCE PROGRAM - THURSDAY MARCH 7, 2002

PURPOSE OF CONFERENCE:

  • To share our student-led global landmine service initiative
  • To create a New Jersey Youth Coalition for promoting landmine removal and victim assistance projects
  • To encourage and support the development of your own landmine service campaign

YOUR SCHOOL SERVICE ORGANIZATION WILL BENEFIT BY:

  • Learning about a model for global service learning based on student leadership
  • Meeting and learning from key landmine activists
  • Receiving outstanding curricular materials on the global landmine crisis
  • Receiving tools, guidance and support for initiating your own landmine awareness campaign
  • Meeting other youth student leaders in northern New Jersey and working with them toward a common humanitarian goal

STRUCTURE OF CONFERENCE:

  • Keynote speaker
  • Workshop sessions with landmine activists
  • Opportunities to meet other student leaders and begin planning a landmine awareness campaign
  • Invitation to join the students of Tenafly and Global Care Unlimited, Inc. in a global service campaign to save lives and assist in the rehabilitation of landmine survivors
