Arn Chorn-Pond, Cambodian
survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide and recipient of numerous
international human rights awards, delivered two presentations
at Tenafly Middle School on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, as
part of Global Care Unlimited's "Symposium on Cambodia
and Landmines." During the afternoon, Mr. Chorn-Pond
received a rousing student ovation for his dramatic presentation
for the Tenafly Middle School student body. That evening
Mr. Chorn-Pond presented to the public and showed a screening
of the award-winning "The Flute Player," which
documents Mr. Chorn-Pond's efforts to revive classical Cambodian
music - as well as the spirit of the Cambodian people -
from the devastation of genocide.
