TESTIMONIALS
December 31, 2002
Dear Mark,
Thank you for inviting me to participate
in the March 8, 2002 for the Youth Coalition for Mine Action
Conference, which is my second Tenafly Middle School student
conference related to mine action. Subsequent to my participation,
I have a better appreciation for the enthusiasm of your
students and the quality of their work in helping to support
mine action.
As an Assistant Professor, I have firsthand
knowledge of the skills necessary to succeed in involving
students in international activities, which, in turn, highlights
to me that you have achieved a considerable accomplishment.
Your work is especially timely, given the many forces of
change at work today within the international community.
As a landmine victim, I would like to
express my appreciation for your continued dedication to
educating our youth about mine action. Under your leadership,
many students commented that they are interested in assuming
a leadership role in educating their communities about the
landmine issue.
When I met you and your students a few
years ago, I was impressed by the poise, maturity and their
ambition in educating others about the landmine issue. You
should be understandably pleased of your success in achieving
the most effective and successful student involvement program
in mine action that I have ever witnessed.
Again, thank you for your leadership
and excellent elucidation of the landmine issue.
I look forward to working with you and
your students again soon.
Sincerely,
Ken Rutherford
